JImmyHeath

Today we were able to hear from a true legend. Jimmy Heath had been in the industry of music from over 60 years. He talked about how Jazz relates to life. He is professional jazz musician. James Edward Heath (born October 25, 1926), nicknamed Little Bird, is an American jazz tenor saxophonist, and the brother of bassist Percy Heath and drummer Albert Heath.
He talked to our class about hw jazz is interpreted in America and then how it is vied around the world. Is common goal that he want to explain is the fact that jazz is American classical music. The reason he said that is because it music that was created her in America really influence the world of music we have today. America doesn’t have pride in the traditional jazz music
Jimmy Heath believes that youth today need a better understanding of jazz in the educational field. Especially in the black community as the people who created the art form are not as part of it as they should be. Take time to study the jazz art.
