Friday in class we were joined by Erica McRae. She informed the important attribute that I myself need to apply to my everyday life, networking and working hard. Working in Mass communications is a field that I believe I would do even if I didn't get paid. (Like now) You really need to have passion for what you are trying accomplished. I found her story very interesting because before I came to North Carolina Central i was obsessed with moving to Atlanta and going Clark Atlanta. But having McRae come here and actually be able to assimilate better into the industry because of her involvement with the professors at Central made me realize I made the best choice. I already have so many ideas but I tend to procrastinate, hopefully now I will take the time to move forward and really accomplish my goal. She also informed the class that her internship with Capital is almost up. Hopefully I can fill her shoes. The funny thing is just last year she was in the class learning and getting inspired by the words of Dr. Chambers. Now in 2009 she has come back to show us that our career doesn't start the day we leave Central it starts the day we arrive.
